Electronic Materials Center in Taiwan

Taiwan is one of the world’s leaders of Flat Panel Display LCD production with almost 40% of the market and it is becoming the world's leading supplier of DRAM memories. For those high-tech industries where the supply of large quantities of specialty gases is required at the highest level of reliability and lowest cost, Air Liquide’s new offer, Jumbo, has met the customers’ expectations with already many large successes with key actors from the semiconductors and Flat Planet Display sectors worldwide.

To support this fast developing offer, Air Liquide is opening a new Electronic Materials Center (EMC) in Taichung, located in the center of Taiwan. This EMC gathers all the specialty gases cutting-edge competencies and is the hub where each Jumbo iso-module is analyzed, controlled before its delivery at customers’ site. It thus ensures full reliability of supply to Air Liquide Electronics customers, providing them with state-of-the-art analysis, logistics, emergency response and service capabilities.

The opening ceremony took place on March 15th, 2007 with the presence of Air Liquide’s customers, material suppliers and Taichung Industrial Park authorities.

During its opening ceremony, Christophe Fontaine, Vice-President Electronics of Air Liquide declared: “We are extremely proud to inaugurate this new Electronic Materials Center with our customers representing leading companies of the semiconductors and Flat Panels Display sector. This EMC will bring our core Jumbo competencies closer to our customers. This event is a key milestone for Air Liquide Electronics’ development in Taiwan.”
